Individual Therapy

Also known as "talk therapy," it can assist in discovering the causes of problematic thinking patterns, actions, and choices. Once we recognize these patterns, we can embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Individual therapy can assist with dealing with stress more effectively, improving coping skills for depression or anxiety, and developing anger management strategies. Individual therapy can help with various other issues, such as grief or loss, addiction, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and school or workplace problems.

Family Therapy

Family therapy aims to facilitate healthier interactions among family members to reduce levels of stress and discord within the family. You may discuss specific topics such as marital or financial challenges, conflicts between parents and children, the effects of substance abuse or mental illness on the entire family, and various other issues.  Participating in family therapy can assist individuals in establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries, improving their ability to interact and communicate with one another while finding solutions to problems.   During our time together in therapy, we will concentrate on the issues you are facing right now and teach you how to enhance your connections with your family and get through challenging times.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can be tough to maintain, and many individuals have experienced the challenges they can bring. During our sessions, I will assist you and your partner in developing more positive perspectives on the most complex issues in your relationship, whether dealing with trust, disagreements, a lack of communication, emotional or physical intimacy, or any other issues. You will have a more in-depth understanding of the dynamics of your partnership and the ability to obtain valuable tools for addressing the difficulties that arise within your relationship.

Telehealth

Telehealth is another method of providing therapy. It is a great option that allows clients to get mental health care from the comfort of their own homes. Telehealth uses video conferencing to provide care, just like in-person therapy sessions. To participate in telehealth treatment, you only need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and a reliable internet connection.  As your therapist, I will always ensure that you have access to a videoconferencing platform that complies with HIPAA regulations that safeguard the confidentiality of your therapy sessions. My goal is to always supply you with convenient and accessible services to make your daily life easier. Here are four excellent reasons to consider telehealth therapy: Flexibility:  Time is valuable, and we constantly seek ways to make the most of it. As you meet with your therapist from your convenient location, you can save time on travel to and from appointments. With telehealth therapy, you can easily log into your session and then log out to continue with the rest of your day. Privacy:  Teletherapy can provide more privacy. Because telehealth treatment is performed in the privacy and security of your home or a secure location. Telehealth therapy can give additional security if you prefer more privacy. Consistent Meetings: For valid reasons, people frequently miss or arrive late to their planned in-person treatment sessions. This may be due to transportation challenges, inclement weather, illness, working late, or childcare conflicts. Telehealth therapy lets you stay consistent with your treatment sessions since you can attend from anywhere. More Options for Providers:  Telehealth allows you to collaborate with licensed providers all around your state or even in states other than yours. Because of this, you will have access to a large selection of highly qualified therapists. As a result, you will also have a greater chance of being seen sooner.

I walk my clients through each stage of the process and utilize various strategies to help them build new perspectives on the most challenging parts of everyday life.  I hold a master's degree in social work from the University of South Carolina and have a clinical social work license to practice independently in Connecticut and Virginia.  I have been working as a social worker for over 21 years, and I employ my years of experience and specialized knowledge to facilitate the recovery and development of others.
